CLUB HOLDS “FLIGHT TO HONOR” BINGO

On 5/13, a bingo fundraiser was held at the Brass Tap on HWY 54.  The event packed the Brass Tap with over 100 people in attendance including 44 GFWC women.   Many local businesses donated gift cards and items for prizes. The DeBartolo Foundation donated $3,600.  The event raised funds for the GFWC Florida President’s Project “Flight to Honor”.  Woman’s Clubs across the state of Florida are in the process of raising funds to sponsor an all woman veterans flight to Washington DC in 2026.   The 18 women working on the event were members that had joined the club within the last 2 years.  See the group photo below.  They did a fantastic job.

SUMMER FUN DELIVERED TO SUNRISE OF PASCO COUNTY

Nancy Taylor, Gail Howard, and Melba Pineiro recently made a delivery to Sunrise Of Pasco County Sexual and Domestic Violence Shelter. They supplied a carload of fun summer activities to keep the children busy over the summer school break. Items included: hula hoops, beanbag toss game, bowling game, horseshoes, sidewalk chalk, coloring books and crayons, hopscotch toss game, bubbles, several balls and numerous other fun activities.

CLUB AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS

Over the past decade, the GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Womans Club has
proudly awarded over $150,000 in scholarships to help students achieve
their dreams of higher education.

This year, we’re thrilled to continue that tradition by celebrating
our 2025 scholarship recipients!   The Green shirt ladies joined these
outstanding students recently at the Lutz Train Depot, to congratulate
them as they take the next step in their academic studies.

Club Awards Scholarship at Keystone Prep High School

On Wednesday, May 7th, Elayne Bassinger and Annette Bellingar awarded a scholarship in memory of Ben Pomales, who was head of the school and had worked with our club over the years to ensure our Arts & Crafts Show was a success.  The scholarship was a warded to Ethan Jakubik.

CLUB’S MOTHER’S DAY DELIVERY TO THE SUNRISE SHELTER

Club members delivered Mother’s Day gifts and cards for the residents of Sunrise Of Pasco County Sexual and Domestic Violence Shelter to shelter employee, Yessi Moya. In addition, they delivered a box of children’s books, children’s tennis shoes, hand sanitizer and beauty products.
