Our Mission
The GFWC Lutz–Land O’ Lakes Woman’s Club Domestic Violence Committee raises awareness, supports survivors, and educates our community about domestic violence, sexual assault, teen dating violence, elder abuse, child abuse, and human trafficking. Through year‑round outreach and partnerships, we work to make a meaningful difference for individuals and families in crisis.
Key Projects
Clothing Donation
We donated a large selection of clothing to Solutions Thrift & Resale Shop, operated by the Sunrise Domestic Violence Shelter, to support survivors as they rebuild their lives.
Teen Dating Violence Awareness
We set i[ an Educational display at the Land O’ Lakes Library with brochures and resources to help teens and families recognize unhealthy relationship behaviors and seek help early.
Sexual Assault Blessing Bags
Sixty Blessing Bags were donated to three BayCare hospitals, providing comfort items and supportive messages for sexual assault survivors during forensic or follow‑up care.
Mother’s Day Jewelry Bags
Sixty jewelry bags and Mother’s Day cards were provided to the children at the Sunrise Domestic Violence Shelter so they could give their mothers a special gift on Mother’s Day.
Elder Abuse Awareness
Sixty blue‑flower vases and brochures were delivered to the Land O’ Lakes Senior Center to spark conversations about recognizing and preventing elder abuse.
