GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB team of members volunteered at Meals on Wheels of Tampa and put together and decorated 60 large holiday collection boxes to be distributed to many area businesses. The community may drop holiday gifts in these large boxes for the many local shut-in clients who may not have family or friends reaching out to them during the festive season.
Woman’s Club Celebrates World Food Day With Donations
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB acknowledged the importance of World Food Day by collecting and delivering over 250 pounds of food and donating it to Christian Social Services, a Land O’Lakes social service agency which serves the needy and food insecure in our community. The Woman’s Club has supported Christian Social Services for several decades.
Donation to Operation Smile
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB was pleased to make a generous donation of $2,000 to “Operation Smile” as a result of its recent “mini-flea market” fundraiser chaired by Kay Taylor. ‘‘Operation Smile’’ is supported by Florida GFWC, in particular, as the chosen charity of Florida President Sharon Oliphant, which charity provides the lifesaving gift of life with cleft lip or palate surgery.
Woman’s Club Team Helps With Annual Pasco Coastal Cleanup
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB team of members led by Conservation Chairs Lonna Vizzari and Nancy Allen recently assisted with registering volunteers and other tasks at the Annual Pasco Coastal Cleanup at Heritage Park – Land O’Lakes Community Center as they do each year. Member Gloria Dale (seated) has volunteered at this community event for the past 26 years.
Woman’s Club Supports Everglades Through Eagles Project
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB participated in a GFWC statewide project to raise much-needed funds to replace visitor signage in the Everglades park, which funds will be matched by a grant. The club purchased two unadorned eagles and two of our talented in-house artists, Cyndie Smith (unavailable for photo) and KarenSue Molis beautifully hand-painted them. The eagles were showcased at the GFWC convention and then put up for adoption by generous sponsors. Ms. Molis’ eagle has already been adopted by the Wesley Chapel Noon Rotary and the other eagle is still available for adoption.

GFWC LUTZ LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB was pleased to honor Maureen Robak and Kay Taylor for their 10 year service to this community service organization. Both ladies were congratulated, thanked for their service and presented with 10 year anniversary pins to commemorate the occasion.
