WOMAN’S CLUB MEMBER PRESENTS STARS TO VETERANS
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB has a wonderful ongoing project meant to honor our veterans and currently serving troops. Club members collect and respectfully cut stars from the fields of retired flags and insert into packets with a very moving and patriotic verse, which packet is meant to be carried in a breast pocket near the heart. Kumi Skillman, a club member, while on vacation in Cedar Key, presented these stars to 2 veterans she noticed in a restaurant. Ms. Skillman explained the contents and the intent and both veterans were very moved by her kind gesture.
