GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB HONORS VETERANS ON 11/11
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members honored veterans by placing flags on their graves at two local cemeteries, one in Lutz and one in Land O’Lakes, to commemorate Veterans Day on 11/11. Ms. Swanton’s daughter Lily Swanton and her friend, Jordin Wigginton helped with the members’ project.
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB DONATES TO LIONS CLUB
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members have collected and donated 145 pairs of eyeglasses to the Lions Club local chapter. Sandi Marrow, Woman’s Club Environment chair, delivered the box full of eyewear to the group, which will in turn be recycled and repaired and distributed to the needy in low income countries across the world. The Woman’s Club has long supported and partnered with the Lions Club.

LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WC PINK PICNIC FOR “STRIDES”
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB had a fabulous and fun “Pink Pandemic Picnic” to raise funds for American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer”. In observance of Oct. as Breast Cancer Month, the members generously donated over $1675 (with donations still arriving). Members sported pink bras with crazy embellishments and 3 prizes were awarded for the ‘Best in Show’.
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB SUPPORTS 2 LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members of its Education/Libraries committee delivered 250 masks (handsewn with love by Master Maskmaker Members) so all of the students and teachers at Miles and Shady Hills Elementary Schools will be protected. Also donated were a good supply of gym shorts for the children.
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB DONATES TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members donated enough supplies to require Chairs Sabrina Scott and Nancy Swanton to make two deliveries to Sunrise of Pasco County Domestic Violence Shelter for the benefit of the women and children residents. October is designated as Domestic Abuse Awareness Month and the woman’s club has long supported this shelter. Included in the club donations were personal and hygiene goods, children’s items, snacks and treats, sanitizers, club-made facemasks for the kids, a check for $200 as well as a requested high chair.
