GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members enjoyed a fun break from their busy schedule of community service projects and volunteerism for a bit of Halloween tricks ‘n treats at their monthly meeting.
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB VOLUNTEER AT QUANTUM LEAP FARMS
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB member Jan King, her Club Booster husband, John King and Booster friend Carole Moore and husband Bob Moore, again volunteered to man the grills and serve picnic barbeque fare at the recent Quantum Leap Family Picnic Day lunch. This Odessa facility provides equine assisted therapies, serving veterans, children with Pediatric Cancer, PTSD victims and people on the spectrum. The benefits of equine therapies are improving coping strategies and communication skills facilitated by a team of certified and licensed equine and medical professionals.
The Woman’s Club has supported this local service organization for a number of years.
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB DONATES TO PASCO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB held a fundraiser luncheon at the Groves Golf & Country Club to benefit Sunrise of Pasco County, a domestic & sexual violence center, which provides emergency safe shelter to women and children who are victims of abuse, as well as numerous support services. Club members acknowledged October as the month designated to bring awareness to this problem and donated 2 carloads filled with needed personal items for the shelter residents, as well as a generous check for $1,000 presented to the staff members of Sunrise by the event chair Gail Howard and club President Elaine Bassinger.
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB DONATED TO CHILDREN’S BOARD FOUNDATION
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members, Nancy Taylor and Chair Gail Howard delivered a donation check to Rebecca Bacon of the Children’s Board Foundation of Hillsborough County to assist with its Children’s Programs. This donation was a part of the Woman’s Club participation in Child Abuse Awareness Month by selling blue pinwheels and placing in public places to bring attention to this problem.
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB DONATES FUNDS FOR OLD LUTZ SCHOOL AED
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members, through its Arts & Culture Committee headed by Lois Cohen, presented a donation check for $900 to Stephanie Ensor (center), representing Old Lutz School, toward the purchase of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) device to be installed at the Historic Old Lutz School.
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB PARTICIPATED IN GFWC FLORIDA DAY OF SERVICE
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members have partnered with their teen club, the Little Women of Lutz, as a joint effort to participate in the GFWC Florida Day of Service. Together the clubwomen and girls collected over 300 pounds of shelf-stable food and pantry items for the food insecure in our community. The foodstuffs were delivered to the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry in Land O’Lakes, Florida for distribution to the needy.
