Flapjack Saturday Fundraiser for CCI

GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club recently organized a special Flapjack Fundraiser Breakfast at Applebee’s to raise funds and awareness of the importance of Canine Companions for Independence. This event was coordinated by Chair Edwina Kraemer and included guests Morton Stone, a very grateful recipient of his service dog, Oscar, as well as very patient ‘puppy raiser’, Bob Hoak with his current puppy, York, who were also present. These club women have long supported and raised funds for this very worthwhile charity.

Pillows for Hospitals and Hope Lodge

GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club members have been busy cutting, stuffing and sewing ‘comfort’ pillows for distribution to various local hospitals and Hope Lodge for use by patients. Margee Carpenter has been instrumental in liaising with the hospitals and agencies in need of these pillows and coordinating the club effort. To date more than 225 pillows have been completed and are ready for delivery.

Purple Fundraiser Commemorates Domestic Violence Month

GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club recently held its annual October fundraiser / luncheon / bunco party which raised funds and collected donations of personal and hygiene items to benefit 2 area domestic violence shelter residences for women and children. The service club works year-round to raise awareness and assist victims of domestic violence through their contributions to these shelters.
