Pillows for Hospitals and Hope Lodge
GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club members have been busy cutting, stuffing and sewing ‘comfort’ pillows for distribution to various local hospitals and Hope Lodge for use by patients. Margee Carpenter has been instrumental in liaising with the hospitals and agencies in need of these pillows and coordinating the club effort. To date more than 225 pillows have been completed and are ready for delivery.

Purple Fundraiser Commemorates Domestic Violence Month
GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club recently held its annual October fundraiser / luncheon / bunco party which raised funds and collected donations of personal and hygiene items to benefit 2 area domestic violence shelter residences for women and children. The service club works year-round to raise awareness and assist victims of domestic violence through their contributions to these shelters.

GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Women’s Club members donated toys, games and personal hygiene items during a fun working luncheon while filling stacks of shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse-Operation Christmas Child. The ladies, under the direction of Chair Madeline McCulloh, got an early start on their holiday giving by successfully packing and delivering over 115 gift shoeboxes which will be sent before Christmas to needy children in this country as well as abroad.
