GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club recently welcomed 4 new members at its Spring Luncheon held at !Cuatro (TPC) in Lutz. Membership Chair Margee Carpenter installed the ladies and President Karin D’Amico warmly welcomed them aboard this long-active community service organization.

GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club was very saddened to learn of the recent passing of its most senior member, June Gregg, in her beloved hometown of Bainbridge, Ohio at the venerable age of 105. Ms. Gregg, who never married, joined the GFWC Federation in Ohio 58 years ago and joined GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes club in 1979. Although in her later years, June moved back to her hometown, she never lost touch with our club, continued to communicate with us, subscribed to our community papers and generously supported our projects. The Woman’s Club honored Ms. Gregg with Emeritus status several years ago and will mourn the passing of a most exceptional woman of her time.

GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club and AARP-Land O’Lakes Chapter congratulate dual member Ciel Birkett, who was recently honored and presented with the National AARP Annual and REA Unit Community Service Award by Phyllis E. Bross, Esq., President, AARP Chapter #4764, on behalf of AARP Headquarters in Washington, DC. Ms. Birkett, of Land O’Lakes, was selected for this national honor in recognition of her many years of volunteer work as a Chapter Leader and Board Member in her service clubs and community, her volunteer work on behalf of cancer awareness, Relay for Life, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and her help in lifting up the area’s homeless.
