GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB chose a fuzzy, furry service project in honor of the Martin Luther King Day of Service on January 20. Members collected well over 100 stuffed bears and other animals which will be delivered to various facilities such as fire and police stations, memory care facilities and other venues where these cuddly comfort pets will be distributed to soothe stressed children and the elderly in need of something to hug.
WOMAN’S CLUB INSTALLS NEW PRESIDENT ANNETTE BELLINGAR
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB is pleased to announce that ANNETTE BELLINGAR was recently installed as President to lead this very active community service organization of 105 members for the 2020-2021 term. Ms. Bellingar, a UK native, is a 10 year member of the Woman’s Club and has held nearly every position and office, as well as serving the community in many other capacities in volunteer organizations beyond the Woman’s Club. The members extend heartiest congratulations and best wishes to their new President as she leads her group of clubwomen “GEMS” (her chosen theme) over the next 2 years.
“PLANT LADY” DONATES AGAIN TO CHRISTIAN SOCIAL SERVICES
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB long-time member Elaine Pittman and a/k/a “The Plant Lady” in the community, has again generously donated $600 to Christian Social Services in Land O’Lakes, for their food pantry and other services assisting the homeless and working poor in the community. Ms. Pittman has long designated CSS as her favorite charity and donates all proceeds from her plant sales at Woman’s Club and other community events to this very worthy charity serving the needy.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members recently presented a generous donation check to Land O’Lakes Library Regional Branch Manager Kathleen Rothstein, as part of its collaboration with the arts programs and support of the library and its many community-oriented activities.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members were very busy this holiday season donating to and serving so many of the needy groups and organizations in our community.

The club stuffed 30 stockings and provided 30 new blankets for those in need.
