GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members serve the food-insecure and the working poor at Trinity Café each month. The club has long supported this organization and in addition to many volunteer hours, has donated special holiday tablecloths to brighten the tables for the guests.
WOMAN’S CLUB DECORATES TREE AT OLD LUTZ SCHOOL
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members decorated its club star-themed Christmas tree as part of the beautiful Annual Holiday Celebration and display at the historic Old Lutz School in Lutz. The Woman’s Club has collaborated with and supported the Old Lutz School in community projects for decades.
Woman’s Club Honors Outgoing President
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB recently honored outgoing President Karin D’Amico and celebrated her term of office with a lovely flamingo-themed high tea. The club members enjoyed outdoing one another with their flamingo outfits, hats and accoutrements while happily “flamingling”. Ms. D’Amico was presented with a lovely diamond dachshund pendant by the club commemorating her great love of the breed and her work with dachshund rescue. Congratulations and Well Done, Karin!
Club Donates to Lighthouse for the Blind Building Fund
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB has supported Lighthouse for the Blind for many years and has made a substantial contribution toward the building fund of its ew facility in New Port Richey. Club members attended the recent dedication ceremony and festive grand opening of the new building serving the needs of the blind and vision-impaired of our community.
Club Making Strides vs. Breast Cancer
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB team of members led by Chair Linda Mitchell participated in the recent 2019 “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk” at Shops at Wiregrass. The club team had 20 walkers, all decked out in pink finery and costumes, including one husband and several grandchildren supporting them. The club raised a substantial amount of donations to be added to this cause.
Club Fundraiser for Domestic Abuse Shelter a Success
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB hosted a very successful fundraiser luncheon/game day to benefit Sunrise of Pasco County Domestic Violence Shelter. The venue was awash in members wearing purple clothing, manicures AND hair, as well as table decorations, all to support the designated color of Domestic & Sexual Violence. The clubwomen were pleased to donate $900, plus enough handbags and totes filled with various “wish list” items needed by the residents to fill an entire SUV plus a car.
