GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB made Christmas Day more special and festive for the residents of a local nursing home by providing them with large gift bags filled with treats and items they had requested or need to cheer them or keep them comfortable and warm. The woman’s club provided for 25 residents who may not have had friends or family able to visit over the holidays and during the long Covid-19 lockdown.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB celebrated “National Hat Day” with members sporting a favorite or fun chapeau. They chose various jaunty, floral, big brims and sporty hats to elevate their moods and bring a bit of cheer during this difficult time of Covid-19 isolation without in-person club meetings.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB President Annette Bellingar delivered a cartload of club-donated 75 Christmas Crackers containing 2 pairs of socks for each resident of a Tampa ALF, together with boxes of new shoes, accessories and toiletries provided by a generous donor friend of the club.
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB SPREADS CHEER TO COMMUNITY
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB outdid itself, under difficult Covid-19 conditions, in helping those less fortunate in our area. The collage represents wonderful members who contributed gifts to nursing home residents, without family and/or friends, who wouldn’t otherwise receive a single Christmas gift. Our members also generously provided food, warm clothing and monetary donations to food pantries and service organizations for special Christmas meals for the food insecure and homeless in our area.
Congratulations 2020 Club Woman of the Year: Barbara Booth
Barbara joined our club in March of 2018. She is currently Co-Chair of the Health & Wellness CSP, where part of her responsiblity is to provide information to our club members concerning nutrition, disease prevention and physical and emotional care. She is also Chair of the Sunshine Committee where she sends cards and delivers gifts to members who need a little sunshine. She and the CSP have sewn over 600 masks for our community.
