GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members support the Humane Society of Tampa Bay year ‘round by donating cat and dog food, comfy pet beds, blankets, toys and other supplies for our furry friends. The Pasco County Animal Shelter is likewise supported by the clubwomen and donations are delivered every few months to both facilities. GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB VOLUNTEERS FOR ‘KEEP PASCO BEAUTIFUL – 2021’
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members Annette Bellingar, Elayne Bassinger and Sandi Marrow formed a volunteer team and participated in the “Keep Pasco (County) Beautiful – 2021” road cleanup in the Connerton Community area. The clubwomen worked to clear the bike / pedestrian path of trash and added their wagon filled with trash bags to the thousands of pounds of roadway trash collected during this annual Pasco County event.
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB DELIVERS GIFT BASKETS TO LOCAL FIRE STATIONS
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members Beth Nevel-Rader and Dee Knerr delivered a total of 12 gift baskets filled with snacks, treats and fruit to 8 local first responder stations in Land O’Lakes and Lutz in commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of 9/11. The clubwomen have long supported the fire and EMT first responders of their community and wished to show their deep appreciation for the dedication and very difficult work of our local heroes.
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB COMMEMORATES 20th ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members turned out in force to commemorate this most solemn and poignant 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attack on our country – on US. The club women formed a long queue of wavers to remind those in the heavy traffic and passers-by along SR 41 in Lutz to “NEVER FORGET”. The women were met with hearty responses from car horns, 18-wheeler airhorn blasts and even Sheriff’s motorcycle sirens in support. Every year since the 1st anniversary in 2002, the club members have made a visible presence to remind the community that we are “all in this together”.
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB PREPARES TREATS BASKETS FOR LOCAL FIRST RESPONDERS
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members gathered and formed an assembly line production as they put together gift baskets filled with snacks, fruit and other treats to be delivered to first responders at each local station in the Lutz and Land O’Lakes area. The women are preparing and delivering these baskets in advance of their very special commemoration of the 20th anniversary of 9/11/2001.
The club members will have a large group of flag wavers present along SR 41 in front of the Old Lutz School on 9/11 which they have done each and every year since 2001.
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB PERFORMED A DAY OF SERVICE TO OUR SENIORS
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB participated in a Day of Service to Seniors by reaching out to the senior resident population at a local assisted living facility —Angels Senior Living @ North Tampa. The clubwomen provided and delivered handsewn bibs and ‘walker’ bags AND 200 popsicle treats for the residents. The club members regularly donate needed items, provide treats and fun activities to several senior facilities in the area.
