GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB THANKS THE COMMUNITY FOR ITS SUPPORT

March 21, 2023

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members wish to thank the community for strongly supporting its Annual Flea Market at the Historic Old Lutz School.  It was a very important fundraiser for this long-serving volunteer organization to support its many projects which benefit our community in so many ways.

Pictured are some of the club’s  almost 100 members, who worked tirelessly to put this popular Flea Market together, together with assistance from The Little Women of Lutz, Boy Scout Troop 12, Old Lutz School Board, husbands and family members.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB DONATES $1500 TO LOPEZ VETERANS’ NURSING HOME

February 3, 2023

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members proudly presented a check to an officer/representative (in red shirt) of the “Operation Patriots” organization, which group supports many fun activities, special outings and treats for the veteran residents of Baldomero Lopez Nursing Home in Land O’Lakes.  The Woman’s Club has supported the residents of Lopez Nursing Home for many years through socialization, Bingo games and generous donations.  This year the club has raised $1500 for the veterans through its popular Tombola game at their Arts & Crafts show, which was a record breaker.  A great deal of credit for this success goes to member, April Saland, who chaired the event and spent many hours collecting bottles as prizes besides physically working the booth at the Craft Show.  Ms. Saland is pictured holding the left corner of the presentation check and club President Elayne Bassinger is holding the right corner.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB MEMBER, THE “PLANT LADY”, DONATES TO CHRISTIAN SOCIAL SERVICES (CSS)

February 3, 2023

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB member, ELAINE PITTMAN, a/k/a “The Plant Lady” across the community, has generously donated $500 to Christian Social Services (CSS) in Land O’Lakes.  This organization serves the needs of the area unhoused and food insecure through its outreach programs and by providing food and clothing.  Ms. Pittman has donated her plant sale proceeds to CSS for many years.  This lovely and generous 2nd senior-most club member, at almost 92 years, still works very hard throughout the year by propagating, planting and trucking her plants to sell at various local events to benefit her favorite charity.
