GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB MEMBER IS GUARDIAN ON HONOR FLIGHT TO DC

September 29, 2022

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB proudly funded member Pam Blumenthal to represent it on the recent Honor Flight escorting veterans to visit the war monuments in Washington, DC.  Ms. Blumenthal served as “guardian” to 30 year veteran of the Army AND Navy, Henri Bellavance, who resides in Largo, Florida.

Afterward, our Guardian Pam regaled the club with wonderful anecdotal accounts by the veterans of their wartime experiences and their appreciation for being honored with this special trip.  Upon arrival of their return flight, the vets were surprised with some even moved to tears by the hearty “welcome home” reception at the airport by our club members as well as many other groups applaudin

g these wonderful men and women who served us so well.

JACKMAN, on the honor extended to him by Hillsborough County, in renaming the Visitors’ Center at Lettuce Lake Park as the “Joel E. GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB VOLUNTEERED AT “BACK TO SCHOOL BOUTIQUE”

September 29, 2022

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members have donated mounds of new and gently used clothing to stock a “Back To School Boutique” at a local church, which provided free clothing to needy high school students.  The ladies unpacked, sorted, sized and hung attractive clothing and footwear, which filled a large room divided into specific “departments”.  This event was so successful that the clubwomen are now considering the need for a permanent year-round Boutique Closet.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB PREPPING FOR ITS HOLIDAY SHOW

September 2, 2022

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members are wasting no time in preparing for their BIG annual Arts & Crafts Show in December.  They are already busily crafting many items to be sold in the club booth such as the adorable angel ornaments (pictured) made by recycling men’s ties….the more colorful, the better.  These clubwomen are very savvy recyclers and extremely eco-conscious of upcycling rather than tossing away usable items in area landfills.  The ladies enjoy the camaraderie and socializing while they work with their sister members and guests on craft days.
