GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB AWARDS $17,500 IN 2022 SCHOLARSHIPS

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE ITS 2022 ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIPS awarded to nine very well-qualified students.  The Lutz Volunteer Fire Department Endowment Fund scholarships of $2500 each were awarded to: Luke Romesburg, Briana Macumber, Camilla Quiniero (not pictured) and Ian Beilfuss.  The Woman’s Club scholarships of $1500 each were awarded to: Cayman Nash Garcia, Emelina Brown, Dylan Mazard and Madison Stysly (not pictured) and a Club Special Achievement Award of $1500 was given to Ashlyn Turnage, a member of Little Women of Lutz.  The Woman’s Club 2022 awards total $17,500 to assist these students with their hefty college tuition and expenses.  The club women extend their heartiest congratulations and well wishes for success to their 2022 Awardees.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB HONOR VETERANS IN LOCAL CEMETERIES

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members recently visited two local cemeteries in Land O’Lakes and Lutz and placed flags on the graves of veterans in remembrance of their service and to commemorate all veterans over Memorial Day Weekend.  The clubwomen thoughtfully prayed for these brave service men and women and gave thanks for their sacrifices on our behalf.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB WINS BIG AT STATE GFWC CONVENTION

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB was represented by a large delegation of members at the recent GFWC Florida Convention in Orlando.  The club delegates voted for the 2022-2024 slate of officers, attended the installation of new officers, were present at numerous workshops and participated in the awards ceremonies.  The club was named “2021 Club of the Year” in Category 4 as well as the recipient of numerous awards for its volunteerism, service projects and donations to the community.  Congratulations and job well done to these hardworking Green Shirt Ladies!

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB DONATES HOUSEWARMING GIFTS FOR NEW HABITAT HOUSE

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members attended the recent dedication of the newest home built by Habitat for Humanity in Dade City.  The Woman’s Club has long supported Habitat and came bearing housewarming gifts for the proud new homeowners.  The ladies presented the family with a beautiful wreath, a fire extinguisher, a first aid kit, a water filtration system with a set of Tervis tumblers and other useful home goods.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB ESO MEETS FOR BOOK DISCUSSION

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members participated in their monthly ESO book club meeting and enjoyed brunch while they were in deep discussion.  The ladies belong to ESO (Epsilon Sigma Omicron), an honorary educational society and federation-supported under GFWC, and thoroughly enjoy choosing a best seller or a classic book each month to read and discuss among friends.

CLUB GREETS VETS RETURNING FROM DC HONOR FLIGHT

May 30, 2022

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members were present at the St. Pete-Clearwater Airport to enthusiastically welcome veterans home from their recent Honor Flight to Washington, DC to tour the War Memorials.  The vets, for the most part, were from the Korean and Vietnam War era.  The ladies were there to honor the veterans and present them with special flag stars to commemorate their service.
