GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club members have again stepped up with generous personal monetary contributions to “Support the Troops” to cover postage on packages ready to be sent to our troops overseas. A Woman’s Club team has long volunteered each month to pack gift boxes for those in uniform at the Wesley Chapel warehouse. They have been dismayed to note the stacks of boxes ready for shipment but funds to cover the mailing costs were lacking. Member Mary Anne Lykins has donated $500 and Member KarenSue Molis and her husband, Fred Molis, have generously contributed $1,000 toward postage. In addition, the Woman’s Club supports this organization on a regular basis.

Hope Lodge
GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club recently visited Hope Lodge, a residence for patients and family members while receiving treatment at Moffitt Cancer Center. The club women regularly prepare and serve a delicious homemade brunch to the guests of this facility. These ladies have become well-known for certain recipes which are now specifically requested and are well-appreciated. Besides the food, the club members visit and enjoy fellowship with the resident guests.

Successful Baby Shower / Bunco Luncheon benefits Alpha House

October 7, 2014

GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club recently sponsored a Baby Shower and Bunco Luncheon to benefit Alpha House during Domestic Violence Month (October) with members donning purple to bring awareness to this issue. The event, chaired by Joan Collins, was well-attended and raised a good amount of cash donations as well as much-needed baby items for this facility. Alpha House provides housing and transitional services to local homeless pregnant women and mothers with young children as well as the tools they will need to become self-sufficient and responsible parents.
