GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club is proud to announce that longtime member, Faith Sincich of Lutz, has been selected as its “Club Volunteer of the Year”. The clubwomen have honored Ms. Sincich for her years of dedication and service to this volunteer organization and for giving unselfishly of her time and energy to bettering the community through her volunteerism.
President and Lutz Arts and Crafts Show Directors Present Donation to Boy Scouts
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB President Karin D’Amico presented Boy Scout Troop 12 in Lutz with a donation of $1500 in appreciation for their community service and collaboration with the Woman’s Club on numerous projects. The Woman’s Club proudly supports this fine group of young men and salutes their volunteerism in the community.
Elaine Pittman a/k/a “Plant Lady” Donates Again
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB longtime member, Elaine Pittman, a/k/a the “Plant Lady”, has broken her own record of annual donations to Christian Social Services (CSS) in Land O’Lakes by delivering a check for $1,000 to the Executive Director. Ms. Pittman has worked for many years propagating, potting and selling plants at Woman’s Club events and fundraisers to benefit her favorite charity and had delivered another donation of $500 in July. CSS serves the area’s needy by providing a food bank as well as other services.
Donations to Alpha House
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members generously donated and filled Chair Mary Anne Lykins’ vehicle with wonderful Christmas gifts delivered to the women and children of Alpha House in Tampa. Ms. Lykins also presented a sizable donation check to assist with more holiday needs to this organization which houses and assists homeless women veterans and their children.
Donation to Land O Lakes Library
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members Lois Cohen and KarenSue Molis presented ‘Friends of Land O’Lakes Library’ with a donation check of $500 to assist with funding their many library programs. The Woman’s Club has long supported both libraries in our community.
2017 Clubwoman of the Year – Pat Wagner
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB has chosen Pat Wagner as its “Clubwoman of the Year” and has honored her with a commemorative plaque at the recent Christmas luncheon. Ms. Wagner, a retired educator, has worked on behalf of the club Education Committee and now serves as its chair. Knowing firsthand of school budget constraints, Ms. Wagner has reached out to our communities’ neediest schools to determine how the Woman’s Club can best assist teachers and students with donated classroom supplies, backpacks, student school supplies and clothing. In addition, under Pat Wagner’s leadership, the club has provided and delivered a bountiful Christmas to more than 13 area student families in need.
