GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club recently conferred the honor of its “Club Woman of the Year” Award to longtime Lutz resident, Lonna Vizzari. Outgoing President Karin D’Amico presented Ms. Vizzari with a commemorative plaque and her name will be added to the club’s “Plaque of Fame” at Lutz Community Center. Lonna has tirelessly served the club in numerous capacities and as Chair of the Conservation Committee for a number of years. She has never said “no” to assisting or chairing any club event or project.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members delivered a check for $2,000 to the ShelterBox USA, in Sarasota. These funds will purchase 2 “Green Boxes” of supplies and tents to be delivered to families devastated by conflict or disaster, both here and abroad. Each box contains necessities sufficient to shelter a family immediately following an natural disaster or emergency and provide implements to sustain themselves in the short term.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members serve the food-insecure and the working poor at Trinity Café each month. The club has long supported this organization and in addition to many volunteer hours, has donated special holiday tablecloths to brighten the tables for the guests.
