GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB CELEBRATED A HALLOWEEN FUN-RAISER FOR LOCAL FOOD PANTRY

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members celebrated a “Witches’ Brew” Fun-Raiser theme on Halloween. A highly energetic gathering of this coven of witches flew in on specially decorated brooms to raise over $1,000 which was donated to the St. Vincent dePaul Food Pantry in Land O’Lakes for the needy and food insecure.  These ladies enjoyed several broom dances, a delicious witches’ brew and a lovely buffet luncheon to raise funds for this well-deserved local charity.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB ALWAYS DELIVERS FOR MOFFITT & ADVENT HEALTH

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members include a group of needlework masters who have worked over the summer to produce a large number of comfort aids and pillows to support breast cancer patients at both Advent Health and Moffitt Cancer Center.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB SERVES SENIORS CENTER

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members again spent special time with the Land O’Lakes Senior Center attendees. The ‘Green Shirt Ladies’, as they are known, helped the seniors create lovely autumn floral arrangements as a take-home treat.  These dedicated clubwomen have been volunteering at both Lutz and Land O’Lakes Senior Centers for years, in an attempt to keep the seniors active and involved in fun projects and sometimes just socializing with them.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’ LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB – ICE CREAM SOCIAL

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’ LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB – A festive Ice Cream Social was held at the Lutz Community Center for the Green Shirt Ladies of GFWC Lutz-Land O’ Lakes Woman’s Club in appreciation for the club members organization and generous support of the annual July 4th Celebration and Parade held at the Lutz Train Depot. It has been sponsored for many years by the Woman’s Club. The parade featured over 60 floats, 30 vendors participated, and Lutz Guv’na Rob Brooklyn was ‘inaugurated’. The Kids’ Zone was popular and the famous Cake Auction was a huge success. Mark your calendar to July 4th 2025 and join the Green Shirt Ladies’ gift to the Lutz Community!

GFWC LUTZ – LAND O’ LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB – Back-to-School Donations

GFWC LUTZ – LAND O’ LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB – Club members generously donated to the Florida Back-to-School program. An overwhelming number of supplies were organized and delivered to three schools which the club continues to support throughout the year.  Miles Elementary School, Denham Oaks Elementary School and Lutz K-8 School received supplies to help their students have a fresh start to the new school year.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’ LAKES MEMBER ACCOMPANIES VET ON HONOR FLIGHT #50

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’ LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB raised $500 in funds needed to cover the cost of its member Guardian Shirley Willhite’s flight to escort ‘her’ veteran, Bob Prairie, to visit Washington, D.C. in a whirlwind tour of the various war memorials and other monuments.  Bob Prairie is a Vietnam Veteran, who served in the Navy, and both he and Ms. Willhite were deeply moved by the experience of visiting Arlington Cemetery, the Korean War and WWII Memorials and Jefferson Memorial and Lincoln Monument.  75 veterans were honored on this 50th Honor Flight and each was paired with an escort, since many are in need of assistance.  It was a very emotional experience for all the veterans as well as their guardians.  Their very busy day began at 3 a.m. and ended late evening on the return flight to a huge warm welcome reception at the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Airport with loud applause, music and much flag waving.
The Woman’s Club has proudly supported Honor Flight – West Central Florida for many years and this was the second trip it funded to send its own members as escorts, with plans to send more club escorts on future flights.
