“Flashy to Trashy” Luncheon & Fashion Show 2016

GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club recently hosted a Luncheon & Fashion Show featuring items ranging from “Flashy to Trashy”, which fashions were pulled from donations to their upcoming Flea Market (Mar. 4 & 5) at the Old Lutz School. The ladies had a laugh-filled afternoon strutting down the runway during an auction of their outfits. The proceeds of this fundraiser will benefit Very Special Arts (VSA) by providing much needed art supplies for special needs students.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB MEMBERS, under the direction of KarenSue Molis, have been very busy sewing infant items for babies the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit of Florida Hospital. Ms. Molis recently delivered to this special unit several dozen of the following: babies’ “first suitcases”, small blankets, burp cloths and little Mommy “scent” cloths which comfort these tiny babies.

A group of GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members recently set sail on a sun and fun-filled Western Caribbean cruise as part of the GFWC Florida Cruise supporting Canine Companions for Independence (CCI), one of its ongoing “pet” projects. The ladies treated themselves to this lovely R & R cruise after a very busy year of community service and were joined by several husbands.

GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club team members participated in their monthly project of packing cartons of treats and requested items to be shipped to active duty military serving overseas. This well-supported club volunteer effort takes place at the Wesley Chapel warehouse of the “Support The Troops” organization, headed by Club Chair Donna Losch and usually includes a club husband or two.

“TRASHY TO FLASHY FASHION SHOW” & LUNCHEON

Trashy to Flashy
GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club is hosting its hilarious Annual ‘’TRASHY TO FLASHY” Fashion Show on Thursday, February 25, 2016 beginning at 11 a.m. at Lutz Community Center behind the Lutz Library (101-1st Ave. NW, Lutz 33548) and is open to the public. This zany event will feature some lovely as well as some whacky outfits pulled together from donations to the club’s upcoming March 4th & 5th Flea Market (at the Old Lutz School) and modeled by club members with many laughs thrown in. Added to the fun is the opportunity to buy these fashions literally off the backs of the models. A delicious Soup ‘N Salad luncheon, including beverages and desserts, will be served for a donation of only $6 with all proceeds benefitting Very Special Arts (VSA) which provides special needs school children with art supplies and projects.

Lutz Annual Flea Market | March 4 and March 5 2016

GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club is preparing for its large and very popular Annual Flea Market on Fri. & Sat. March 4 & March 5 (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.) at the historic Old Lutz School, 18819 US 41-N, Lutz 33549.

Each year the “Green Shirt Ladies” collect donations from the community and arrange a lively sale both indoors and outside in the old school yard. Treasures abound including: antiques & collectibles, art, clothing, children’s items, housewares, linens, décor & accessories, plants, books, furniture, sports equipment, tools, toys. You name it and the ladies will have it at great bargain prices.

There will also be a food booth and a baked goods station serving delicious items.

Donations will be accepted at the Old School each Mon. & Wed. beginning Feb. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon.

All proceeds are returned to the community in the form of scholarships and donations to numerous service groups, schools and libraries. These hardworking ladies have been serving our community for the past 56 years. For more information call Pat at 813-948-4752.
