BINGO to Benefit Land O Lakes “HONORARY MAYORAL” Candidate

The Central Pasco County Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with AARP – Land O’Lakes Chapter and GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club, will host BINGO on:

Tuesday, April 4, 2017
11 A.M. to 1 P.M.
at the Land O’ Lakes Library

This event is in support of Rosie Heim’s Candidacy for “Honorary Mayor” of Land O’ Lakes. Please bring your own BINGO dabbers. The total event donation is only $10 (payable by check or money order to “Pasco Chamber”). A light lunch and coffee at no extra cost will be served. Non-monetary BINGO prizes were generously donated so that this non-political event can help support various worthy charitable and community causes. GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club recognized Heart Month by dressing in red for each of their meetings during the month of February. Cardiac health awareness is stressed by the Woman’s Club throughout the year by distributing heart health info and inviting related guest speakers.

Preparing Treats for Seniors and Vets


GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club members recently worked on several craft projects simultaneously. Personalized Valentines, candy treats and colorful floral table decorations were handmade and delivered to the Lutz Senior Center, J. A. Haley VA Hospital & Lopez VA Nursing Home in Land O’Lakes. This long-serving community service organization supports numerous local non-profits, schools, libraries, boy & girl scouts.

Karin D’Amico Donates Items in Casa Aberque de Martina, Dominican Republic

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB President Karin D’Amico was very busy volunteering during her recent GFWC Florida Caribbean Cruise. Ms. D’Amico toured Casa Aberque de Martina in the Dominican Republic and Hogar Rafaela Ybarra Girls’ Shelter in San Juan, Pueto Rico. She brought with her suitcases and backpacks filled with school supplies and other fun items donated by club members to distribute to the needy girls in both facilities. Needless to say, Ms. D’Amico was met by the little girls who showed with big smiles and open arms how very grateful they were for the generosity of the Woman’s Club gifts.

Sock Puppy Puppets to be Sold at the Annual DogFest

GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club members recently enjoyed a day of crafting a large litter sock puppy puppets which are to be sold at the annual DogFest. Funds are raised each year toward the purchase of these very expensive puppies to be trained over a 2 year period as hard-working assistance dogs for the disabled. The Woman’s Club has supported Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) for a number of years and considers it a most worthy charity.

DONATIONS NEEDED FOR WOMAN’S CLUB ANNUAL FLEA MARKET

The GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club members are beginning preparations for their Annual Old Lutz School Flea Market by accepting donations from the community each Mon. and Wed. beginning on February 13th at the Old Lutz School, 18819 US-41 N, Lutz, north of Sunset Lane between 9 and 11 am. Donations must be clean and in working order. Large format TVs or appliances or sleeper sofas cannot be accepted. Please help the hardworking “Green Shirt” ladies raise funds with your donations for this very popular flea market, proceeds of which will ultimately benefit our community through their scholarship fund and many contributions and support of local charitable groups and non-profits.
