GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB PERFORMED A DAY OF SERVICE TO OUR SENIORS

September 1, 2021

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB participated in a Day of Service to Seniors by reaching out to the senior resident population at a local assisted living facility —Angels Senior Living @ North Tampa.  The clubwomen provided and delivered handsewn bibs and ‘walker’ bags AND 200 popsicle treats for the residents.  The club members regularly donate needed items, provide treats and fun activities to several senior facilities in the area.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LKES WOMAN’S CLUB DELIVERS SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO 3 SCHOOLS

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members have collected a large amount of school supplies to assist students at 3 local schools:  Connerton Elementary, Miles Elementary and Lutz Elementary Schools.  The club women filled 3 SUVs with supplies which were delivered and gratefully received by each of the 3 schools.  The Woman’s Club has supported education and local schools and libraries for decades.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB GATHERS FOR CRAFTING

September 1, 2021

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members met indoors for crafting at Heritage Park – Land O’Lakes for the first time since Covid-19 lockdowns.  The club women worked on hand-crafted items to be sold at their Annual Lutz Arts & Crafts Show in December to help fund and support their many community projects.

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB HELPS LITTLE WOMEN OF LUTZ KEEP LUTZ LITTER-FREE

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB assisted its affiliate teen club, Little Women of Lutz, with their recent cleanup of Lutz-Lake Fern Road in downtown Lutz, its sponsored roadway. The Woman’s Club sponsors and mentors this group of young women who will be our future leaders and community service volunteers.

WOMAN’S CLUB Volunteers at Connerton Elementary School

GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB members recently volunteered at Connerton Elementary School in Land O’Lakes.  The club women made quick work of assembling and collating 750 information packets for the students and parents, readying them for the new school year.  The Woman’s Club has long supported local schools through generous annual scholarships as well as hands-on volunteerism such as with this project and many more.

Help Get May Mann Jennings into the Florida Women’s Hall of Fame!

May Mann Jennings was a leading member of the women’s club movement serving as president of the 9,000+  member Florida Federation of Women’s Clubs from 1914-1917.  It was during her tenure as president that she spearheaded the effort to have Royal Palm State Park established in 1915, later to become part of the Everglades National Park in 1947.  Mrs. Jennings was known as the “Mother of Florida’s Forestry” for her conservation efforts.
