GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB team of members worked hard to refresh the children’s playroom and family room, for the residents of Sunrise of Pasco County Domestic & Sexual Violence Shelter. These rooms were rather plain and undecorated until the club women arrived with paint and supplies in hand. After painting the walls, the club artists then adorned the rooms with murals of colorful animals and birds, while the children enjoyed watching the process. New furniture, bookcases, toys and a large screen tv were also provided by the club members.
The Woman’s Club would like to give special acknowledgement to Jay and Kim Canals, owners of AIC Painting Company, who generously donated enough Sherwin-Williams Duration paint to cover this large project. The value of the paint donation was more than $500 and provided a huge improvement to the shelter. Gail Howard, Melba Pineiro, Pennee Bowen and Karen Molis were a few of the club women involved in the project.
