GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club recently enjoyed a successful luncheon and baby shower benefiting 2 area safe haven Domestic Violence Shelters. The clubwomen were all decked out in shades of purple to show their support and were very generous in their donations to this important cause. The ladies were successful in filling 2 large vans full of beautiful baby and toddler clothing, diapers and other needed items.
Club Members Attend Fall 2015 State Convention
GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club members recently attended the annual General Federation of Women’s Clubs State Convention in Orlando. The women attended numerous workshops, learning experiences and seminars. This year’s theme celebrated veterans and honored its own veteran members.
Club Honors Longtime Members
GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club recently congratulated and honored longtime members for their many years of club service and community volunteerism. Annette Bellingar, Membership Chair presented “year” pins to Aniko Solomonson (30 year member), Barbara Jackson (15 year member) and Jeannie Oller (5 year member) in appreciation for their faithful service.
WOMAN’S CLUB AWARDS 2015 ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIPS
GFWC LUTZ-LAND O’LAKES WOMAN’S CLUB is proud to announce its roster of 2015 Scholarship award recipients. Corey Watson (USF) and Elizabeth Earley (Southeastern University) were each awarded a $5,000 scholarship from the Woman’s Club-administered Lutz Volunteer Fire Dept. Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund. In addition, the Woman’s Club funded the following Scholarships awarded in the sum of $1,500 per student:
Megan Hoedt (USF), Amanda Normandia (FL Polytech), Benjamin Tran (UF), Monique Borton-Smith (Erwin); Marco Pulgar (UF); Suraj Ranrakhyani (UC/Berkley); Catherine Espinosa (St. Petersburg College); Cassidy Doyle (UF); Benjamin Damato (USF); Madison Cooper (USF); Olivia Connors (FL Atlantic U.); Kaylee E. Baer (Auburn).
The Woman’s Club is proud to have awarded a total of $28,000 in scholarships to local students this year and continues to support education in numerous and myriad projects throughout the year.
Bow Wow Benefit for Dogfest Walk’NRoll | September 24 2015

GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club is sponsoring a FUN-raiser Bow Wow Bingo event at the new local winery in Land O’Lakes to benefit its goal of purchasing a puppy to be enrolled in the Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) for training as an assistance / companion helpmate. Donation is $10.

GFWC Lutz-Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club proudly recognized 3 very outstanding longtime members, each of whom have contributed so much to their club and their community.
These 3 ladies have cumulatively served as hard-working community service volunteers and proud members of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs for a total of 110 YEARS ! Phyllis Hoedt (40 year member) has twice served the club as President, Shirley Simmons (35 year member) is also a former club President and Dr. Szentivanyi, (35 year member) a retired physician, has over the years served on the Board of Directors and many other capacities within the club. The Woman’s Club congratulates and salutes these 3 outstanding women for their generosity and service.
